Illegal encroachment on green verges

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Simon Baddeley at 20:30, Mon 16 August 2010
Sent to Birmingham City Council 4 minutes later

Since this problem was highlighted in June 2009 it has if anything become even worse. Grass verges opposite Handsworth Park beyond the frontages of 244-248 Hamstead Road, Handsworth B20 2RD are almost completely depleted by householders with perfectly adequate rear access parking space via Winston Drive. The car owners are ignoring a notice opposite 246 Hamstead Road on lampost 43 saying "No motor vehicles on mown verge". This has nothing to do with householders having a legal access path to their homes. Furthermore drivers are driving along a public pedestrian pavement (near the entrance to a public park) to get to the road over a pavement without ramps, further evidence of improper use of this public space.
