The path up and down both sides of Alexandra Road is very uneaven with pot-holes and a ribbed appearance. It has been repaired several times after excavation work has been carried out but these repairs are very poor. After rainfall, water collects aginst the houses and in puddles where there are significant depressions in the surface. The ribbed texture of the pavement surface makes it very difficlt to sweep and keep clean and acts like a magnet, attracting cigarette ends and litter. Loose grit from the surface of the pavement is regularly brought into the house on footwear. The path has the appearance of being unfinished. The alleyways and surrounding streets are in a similar poor condition.
