Over the last 12 months the problems with antisocial behavior at the top of Gleneagle Road has progressively increased. Every day & night the patrons of the somali cafes (many of which do not have the correct commercial licences) leave the street in a total mess. Litter (fag butts, khat detritus, polystyrene cup) line the street. The noise from groups of men arguing and shouting has dramatically increased. The front doors of local residents are blocked daily. The parking bays are used as taxi ranks with vehicles staying far beyond their permitted time. The pavements are blocked by gangs of somali teenagers and there is no respect for the local residents many of which have been living in the street for much longer than any of the shops have been present. Unfortunately the owners and patrons of these cafes seem to operate in a world above the laws Lambeth Council set out, above the laws of the Met Police Safer Neighborhood Team and with no respect & common decency for the local residents. The area has become a Lambeth sanction ghetto.
