This is people popping into the shops for 2 minutes. It is not an obstruction - it's a very wide road. I've seen countless cars do it and never seen any difficulties encountered. Petty.
This is a dangerous practice by selfish anti-social types that needs to be stopped. Making a RH turn is especially difficult when several cars block the way.
Several years ago the council tried to 'fix' this problem by sending traffic wardens out in force to the nearby streets, resulting in ticket after ticket for local residents with minor parking offences outside their own homes - presumably very lucrative for the council too. Do not invite them back - you will regret it.
This is still happening and a danger to pedestrians and motorists turning right. Looking forward to the council trying to fix this problem again.
