Projecting kerb

Reported in the Roads/highways category by tim woolcott at 07:46, Wed 7 July 2010
Sent to Southwark Borough Council 4 minutes later

As part of the cyclist/pedestrian improvements at the zebra crossing the kerb line was modified to project into the carriage way. Although I understand the Councils philosophy to do this the projection is not adequately highlighted. There is a very serious risk that without a bollard the kerb will not be noticed by cyclists in poor weather (or at night) and will one day result in a serious accident or fatality. Now that the Council have been notified of this potential problem it should be investigated and remediation measures considered.
