Yellow lines are needed to ease traffic

Sent to Southwark Borough Council 4 minutes later

At this point on Alleyn Park, the road narrows so only three cars can fit alongside each other. This is fine when there is parking on just one side of the street, but frequently, a lone car parked on the opposite side of the road narrows this road to just one lane. I would suggest that double yellow lines are painted on the WEST side of the road from the intersection with the A205 down to the first pedestrian island (newly installed), about 150m, where the road then becomes much wider and there is much more room.

Queueing here in rush hour can even affect circulation on the A205, because a backlog of cars wanting to turn off the A205 are held up. When a car does park like this, it can cause delays of up to 10 minutes for this tiny stretch of road.

I hope this is fixed soon before the schools go back and the problem returns.
