Rats

There is a back alley behind the shops on the west side of Stoke Newington High Street connecting with Palatine Avenue that is (in parts) completely covered in rubbish and is infested with rats.

Over the period of the last month many of the residents on Palatine Road and Palatine Avenue, who’s flats are located within close proximity to the alley have had problems with rats coming into their gardens in the evening and during the day. In one case at the garden behind 10 Palatine Road there have been up to 6 rats at once during the day. The ground floor flats along this section of Palatine Road and Palatine Avenue have very small gardens, often with the living spaces and kitchens facing towards the gardens. Not only is there is a risk that rats will start coming into people’s living spaces but it is unsafe for children and pets to use the gardens due to potential health conditions created by the rats. This is clearly evidence that there is a serious problem that is out of hand and is in need of urgent attention
