Road humps

Reported by Captain John Bakewell at 23:50, Thu 17 June 2010
Sent to Isle of Anglesey Council 4 minutes later

There are four road humps on this road, which are pretty steep. Leading to varioue estates where mainly retired and elderly people live, you will understand that we get a fair number of ambulances having to proceed over these humps. This can cause pain and distress and even stop paramedics treating their patients because of the jerking when going over these humps.

It will also eventually cause damage to vehicles who have to go over them each day. Hardly any consultation was made with the communities before these were made. Certainly not in the Penrhodyn and Bryn Moryd areas. Having lived in this area since 1971, I cannot recall a single injury here. To stop speeding, there is a police station overlooking these humps.

I was told that over 80% of people wanted these humps. To date I cannot find anyone who was asked or anyone who wanted these humps.

Mayne a councillor who runs a nursery by this road asked for them.

I received a letter from the Councillor sympathising, but said so many people in Gorad Road wanted them.
