'Seagulls'

Reported by George Scott at 13:39, Thu 17 June 2010
Sent to Aberdeen City Council 1 minute later

There are scores of these winged vermin nesting on the roofs in this area. Besides the appalling noise that goes on 24/7, there is the ubiquitous carpet bombing of humans and vehicles alike. Disgusting is not the word.

Nothing has been done. I never really expected it to be the case as this is not the 'West End'. It is absolutely disgusting that we have to suffer this. Time the RSPB was brought into line. A Kestrel is the answer.

Only one of the three councillors for this area bothered to reply and, to be perfectly frank, I found his response to be somewhat sarcastic. I get the impression that there is either very little that can be done or there is very little that they (the Council) want to do. The problem is worse as there are the recently hatched chicks (if that's the correct term for baby 'seagulls')that have jouned in on the chorus of scrawking and carpet bombing. I have lived here for seven years and the problem gets worse every year. Definitely time for a Ketsrel.

Council are going tolook at the situation during next year's breeding season (for the seagulls that is).

Seagull oroblem not as bad as it was as the breeding season is, I think, over. There is also some evidence of the proverbial 'road-kill'. I have lived in the area for just over seven years and the problem gets worse year-on-year. Roll on next 2011.

My god! These birds are breeding machines! There appears to be a non-stop production line of these things. I am getting bored with my own moaning about the subject, is it just me or does nobody else give a flying flock (of seagulls)?

I would like to report persistant dog fouling in Seaton area, particularly in School road and Avenue. Seagulls are also a problem.
