Worst potholes filled in. Road still no better than dirt track. Cars can still be seen swerving down the road.

Worst potholes filled in. Cars still swerving along the road avoiding all the other potholes. Road no better than a dirt track.

well apart from the big hole on the corner being fixed the rest of the road is crap all down the middle of the road there are still big hole,s

Drive on the grass at the side. Much smoother than the road. Drivers are watching the potholes more than the oncoming traffic now. Avoid this road at all costs.

Road getting worse if it's possible. Some holes 3-4 inches deep. Apparently not council owned so will not be fixed.

Posted anonymously at 10:40, Thu 23 December 2010

Its not council owned and its not MOD owned so who owns it then?

Posted anonymously at 16:25, Thu 23 December 2010

try David Wilson they brought all the land round the area so i assume they own the road.If that fail,s contact Swindon council someone must know who own,s the road

Posted anonymously at 09:48, Fri 24 December 2010

Contacted council. They say MOD own the land. Contacted MOD they say they do not own the land anymore.

Posted anonymously at 14:42, Fri 24 December 2010

The more complaints that get made about the road then something might get done.

Posted anonymously at 16:39, Thu 6 January 2011

Recent snow has made the potholes deeper & wider. Maybe time to contact the local MP as the council will not take responsibility of this issue.

Start sending complaints to local MP Robert Buckland via theyworkforyou.com

Posted anonymously at 22:14, Thu 6 January 2011

M.O.D sold all the land back in 1995 and even if they do own the road they ain,t going to admit it unless someone makes them.By the way does anyone know the actual name of the road so I can make a complaint to the MP

Posted anonymously at 12:57, Fri 7 January 2011

Road has no name just state it is road from Beranburh Field To Thorney Park. MP is Robert Buckland, see previous post, he knows the problem as he used the road last weekend. I contacted him yesterday about this. He has informed Cllr Eric Shaw, the local Ward Councillors. Awaiting response.

Posted anonymously at 13:10, Fri 7 January 2011

That sound,s promising then I sent a message last night and am also waiting for a response fingers crossed we might get something done about that road

Saw some people attempting to fill the holes the other day small roller & buckets of tarmac. They soon gave up. Keep complaints going to local MP

Posted anonymously at 18:13, Sun 23 January 2011

Yea we can tell i drove down it today i think they have made it worse.I emailed Robert Buckland he told Cllr Eric Shaw they jist of the email was that it is a private road and they were going to find out who owned it. They have filled some hole,s in but they havn,t flattened it very well so now you have to dodge the hole,s and there tarmacking

Still nothing being done about the state of this road. Have complained again to local MP. But looks like being a private road we will have to put up with it. & Pay the repair bills for damaged suspension.

What a shock another MP doing nothing they don,t have to live up here so it doesn,t bother them i saw they did the bottom of Priors Hill they even closed the road off to do it i thought they were doing the whole hill only to find that they had wasted tax payer,s money doing a piece of the road that in my opinion was not that bad to start with. The rest of the hill that was bad only got section,s done then i read that along awaited road in Wroughton had been given the go ahead to be resurfaced and in my opinion is another waste of money as it is a road hardly anyone use,s.I,m sick to death of seeing CLLR ERIC SHAW all over town saying what he will& won,t be doing now the man that is taking over from him is doing the same well what about us up here on our own with no help what so ever yea cheers for looking after us.Sorry peeps for the rant rant over

Word on the street is the Go Karting ppl own the road

Posted anonymously at 18:24, Fri 11 March 2011

He is meant to pay for the repair,s but told the council to do one as the bus,s use the road so they should pay but they say it,s him as he brought the road so the be all and end all NO FIXED ROAD

Posted anonymously at 23:48, Sat 19 March 2011

No response from local MP anymore so guess they don't care now. Road still not getting repaired. Who to take this to next?

Posted anonymously at 21:36, Tue 3 May 2011

You should take it to the paper and complain about the Cllr, thats terrible

Posted anonymously at 22:38, Sat 7 May 2011

Dangerous road to travel along now. Drains collapsing into the road. Manhole covers being stolen. Alsmost knocked off my bike by cars swerving down the road.

Posted anonymously at 20:39, Mon 16 May 2011

Nearly head on with a bus today. Bus on wrong side of road trying to avoid the hole in the road on the corner. How long before an accident on this road.

Posted anonymously at 13:16, Thu 26 May 2011

I think we should talk to someone but who the MP will not help. What i don,t understand is why can,t the council make the owner of the Go karting pay seeing,s as he own,s the road also if he does not repair soon his customers will not be able to get to him .I just think it,s wrong that no one can make him fix the road

Posted anonymously at 14:14, Thu 26 May 2011

Last email received by local MP said the legal team would email. That was over 1 week ago. Going to correct way to get things done does not seem to work. Any ideas?

Posted anonymously at 11:09, Tue 21 June 2011

Street lights not working. Drains collapsing into road. Manhole covers stolen. Massive potholes. Council & local MP can't do anything. Aren't you glad you pay road tax.

Posted anonymously at 11:28, Thu 23 June 2011

Actiondrome acquired the road in 2008. Private road, no public right of way. Still not going to be fixed.

Posted anonymously at 20:31, Fri 12 August 2011

So what would happen if we all emailed Actiondrome or sent them a link to this page

Posted anonymously at 10:14, Sat 13 August 2011

Actiondrome would probably close the road to public access. Can only email direct from website.

Posted anonymously at 11:45, Sat 13 August 2011

They tried to close the road before when the first brought it but the council said no they couldn,t I don,t understand aren,t any of the customers of the Go Karting complaining about the road soon it will be closed cause of the damage then no one will be able to use it then what will we do the bus,s won,t be able to get up or any thing

Posted anonymously at 15:08, Sat 13 August 2011

According to Land Registry records the road is question is owned By Actiondrome Limited, having being acquired by the company in January 2008. The owner contends that this is a private road which the public do not have a right to use ( there are public footpaths in the area in question, but the road it self is private).

I guess the bus will have to use priors hill. That will be interesting to see. More likely we will just get cut off. Saves the council money if they don't have to send a bus up here. Keep emailing local MP.

Where are the Wroughton Parish Council when u need them

Posted anonymously at 15:29, Sun 28 August 2011

Owner is Steve Cohen from Swindon Karting. Council can't force him to repair the road. Council won't do anything to help residents here. As to how public transport can use private road remains unclear.

Posted anonymously at 10:08, Wed 7 September 2011

What a shock that the council won,t do anything to help the residents they don,t help us when we are all snowed in they just leave us here they don,t mind taking the council tax but they won,t do anything to help at all cheers Swindon Council. I think the removal,s company and the go karting ppl should pitch in and pay for it between them i would of thought that them lorries are not helping the road
