Zebra Crossing speed hump

Reported in the Roads/highways category by M. Ward at 10:58, Sun 30 May 2010
Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later

The recently-installed speed hump on this crossing is too steep and high - it causes my car to bottom-out even at very low speed. (Normal saloon car)

I received a reply saying, amazingly, that this speed-hump had been installed by Clifton College and Bristol Zoo. The Council promised to investigate it, but I've had no further feedback. The hump has now acquired several sets of deep grooves from fellow-suffering motorists. 2 weeks ago, I was told by my garage that I had a broken rear spring on my car - cost £340 to repair.

What do you consider "normal" speed for a road by a school? I haven't had any problems driving over it.

I live opposite Clifton College & normally drive 20mph or less.

This speed bump is dangerous. Have a look at the deep grooves people have carved in it if you need proof.

'S' must drive a Chelsea Tractor or some kind of white van if they don't find it a problem.
