Broken Fencing

Sent to Liverpool City Council 5 minutes later
Hello, Beside and behind my house there is an entry that is, or should I say should, be used by residents to access their back garden(s). This entry also divides the rear gardens of houses on Grange Avenue with two-storey flats on Broughton Hall Road. During strong winds the fence has felldown and this entry has now become a `rat-run` for local youths causing distress for those in the houses on Grange Avenue adjacent to this entry. With this fence being down this is also making the houses/gardens and property left in those gardens vunerable. Could you help in assisting to get this fence rectified please as a neighbour has mentioned that Liverpool City Council have been informed but she was told that the fence is `in no mans land and is the resposibillity of no one`. This I find very hard to believe, as if someone had been injured or cars damaged when the fence fell during the winds I`m pretty certain that the insurance companies would have found just who is culpable. This is where I turn to you to hopefully get the fence rebuilt.
Kind regards.

Received an automated response from Liverpool City Council:27 May 2010 09:35 Thank you for your e-mail. This e-mail confirms we have received your enquiry. We will aim to respond to you within 24 hours, but please note that during busy periods it may take up to three working days to reply to you. In the mean time, you will be able to find the answers to lots of questions on our website: www.liverpool.gov.uk. Please do not reply to this e-mail as it has been generated automatically. Thank you Liverpool Direct Limited Company of the Year Liverpool Direct Limited, North of England Business Excellence.
As it states it `may take up to 3 working days for a response to be received` as of 14/10pm 01/06/10 this has now exceeded this timescale. Do Liverpool City Council have a service level agreement? If so then they have not honoured this, which does not surprise me. On Liverpool Direct email signature it states:Company of the Year Liverpool Direct Limited, North of England Business Excellence. Company of the year?????
This issue needs to be investigated and resolved as soon as possible.
I have responded to Liverpool Direct automated response with the following: Hello,
On May 27th 2010 I submitted the following on `Fixmystreet` following which I received your automated response advising of a possible response within 24hrs but during busy periods a definate response within 3 working days. Taking into account the time of day this was sent this will have taken into account Thursday, Friday and given the Bank Holiday weekend Tuesday.......no response from what is described on the automated response signature, `Company of the Year`. May I ask why I have not received your promised response during the timescale advised? As you provide a service I take it there is a Service Level Agreement to which you must abide, could you advise of this please? When this was originally submitted on the above mentioned website I intend to keep this updated everyday from today and if required will also email the city council leader if required. This can be resolved rapidly by you authorising for this fence to be repaired and completing the repairs as soon as possible I look forward to your reply. Kind regards,
As stated I now am waiting on a response.

Due to the total lack of correspondence from Liverpool City Council (why am I NOT surprised?)I have now taken to emailing The Prime Minister regarding this issue:
Hello,
Reference Number: 54014.
I am still to receive any correspondence in regards to the above reference I have taken to contacting The Prime Minister regarding your complete lack of correspondence/actions in this matter. Please see the below sent to Mr.Cameron:
Hello Mr. Cameron. Recently I had cause for concern to contact Liverpool City Council via a website called `Fixmystreet`under the title `Broken Fencing`.The reason being a fence that has fallen behind my house therefore making a communal entry for approx 7 houses a `rat-run` for local youths and as a result a dumping ground for their rubbish beer cans etc. I have ref:54014 from Liverpool City Council but thats it in 3 weeks,no further contact despite promises the issue is being dealt with on the accompanying email advising of the reference. Therefore I turn to you,This is causing great concern and untold stress for my neighbours, wife and I. Can you help? Yours sincerely,
Perhaps I may see some action from Liverpool City Council, if not then I shall continue to email Mr.Cameron to advise of your lack of respect for the people of the City you are ` suppose` to represent.
Kind regards
Email received 08/06/10 (UNSIGNED)from Liverpool Direct: Thank you for your email regarding the damaged fencing behind your property that is causing you and your neighbors concern. I have forwarded the details to the service area that will be able to help you with this. They will respond to you as soon as possible. *************************
Whatever may be described as "As soon as possible" I can only guess. This is the 7th time of contacting Liverpool City Council over this issue I find it staggering that no one has actually bothered to contact me in regards to this issue.....or may I dream actually fix the fence.....I know I should be on stage with jokes like that!!
Once again I have sent this exact update to Liverpool City Council. No apologies for the sarcastic humour but if I don`t laugh at myself `trying` to good for my neighbourhood I will go mad. Why is it exactly do we obey the law and pay our council tax only to be brushed aside, snubbed and totally ignored by the people we vote into power?
I am now getting so frustrated I cannot describe. As previously advised I have emailed The Prime Minister over this and Liverpool City Council have until Friday 18th June to reply or I am forced to approach the National Press to highlight the failings and lack of respect for one of its residence.
As promised I have now contacted The National Press (The Mirror) as the deadline I set Liverpool City Council has now passed. TYhis issue was first reported 23 days ago and have I had any meaningful contact? NO.
Entire notes as above have been included in my email to The Mirror including the following: I have constantly updated the website `Fix my Street` with all correspondence and have now reached the date stated to Liverpool City Council that I gave them as a deadline before contacting The Press. I feel this lack of communication from a Governing Body needs to be exposed as they are not delivering on any promises, SLA`s, contacts or indeed anything they have said they will do.
These very same people came knocking at my door a few weeks ago promising this/that and everything IF we vote for them. Well my vote was cast and Liverpool City Council returned to a Labour run council. As per usual promises, promises, promises and even more promises made and IMMEDIATELY broken. These people do not give a toss for the people that put them there, far too busy enjoying all the 5* luxury freebie lunches etc to be bothered authorising the fixing of a fence.......my god should these liars actually carry out anything they b***dy promised for my`precious` vote. This email has also been passed on to Liverpool City Council, though what good it will do I don`t know
I received a letter from Liverpool City Council, this after many times of me contacting them with promise after promise that I would receive contact from `The Department`. On at lease SIX occasions this was the case until finally I received a reply stating that the fance in question does not fall under the juristiction of the council. I find this staggering, absolutely staggering. So despite me attempting to stop what could escalate into some Anti Social Behaviour, I take it that as we pay our council tax which part payment also goes to the Local Constabulary that if anything happens as a result of this fence being down then The Police will not attend if any premises is broken into as this fence and the adjoining land is basically in `No Mans Land`.
It seems that the only thing that you as a website have submitted on my behalf was my initial query, everything since I have had to do myself. Therefore you have sent me questionaire and ask if I would like to receive another one in a further 4 weeks. Why? Afterall you won`t send it anywhere, it won`t be submitted to the council in question, you don`t fight any cause on my behalf. Basically I could have wrote a letter to the council or indeed email them direct and got to the same point with a waste of time reply from them. So I have come to the conclusion that this website is nothing but a glorified reporting system, you don`t actually do anything. NO I do not want a further questionaire, why would I?
