Parking in Newby Farm RD.by Social services workers.

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 18:12, Sun 23 May 2010
Sent to Scarborough Borough Council 2 minutes later

The entrance to this road from the library end has been turned into a car park by workers at North Yorkshire House(Social Services).I have had cause to use the ambulance service on several occasions in the past, all the drivers complained about the reduced space caused by parking, especially close o the speed bumps(bricked, raised area). Cars also occupy the car park designated for walkers using the railway path.Residents were given to understand that workers would use the Newby and Scalby hall carpark. In Newby farm court, which is narrow several cars regularly park half on the pavement, making it impossible for disability scooters and prams to get past without going into the road. This matter has been brought up at CAP meetings, letters have been sent to the council, to no avail.

I note that the 'No parking' notices are up , but are being ignored . Is This because no lines have yet been painted? If so, how much longer do we have to wait before the job is completed?

Newby farm road entrance is now free of cars, however,it appears that Keld close is now used and on most days cars are parked half on pavement and road in Newby farm Court. There has even been a car parked on the grass next to the small car park. The village hall car park has very few cars in it. A resident of Hackness road told me that extra parking is causing traffic problems there.
