General Litter Problem

Starting at the junction of wayland rd/holmcroft road and continuing down holmcroft road, there is a minority of people (specific groups and households residing at the top of holmcroft road) who are responsible for the majority of the daily litter, which is finding its way into gardens and caught up in hedges and kerbside.

Also particularly bad outside 196 holcroft road near which is partly due to the occupier and partly due to littering at the bus stop. Constant stream of cans and plastic drinks bottles and beer cans. Also fast food and crisp packs.

Also, residents at 198 & 200 holmcroft road have overspilling bins and do not use the recycling facilities, resulting in increased litter on the streets on bin day.

There are no bins on the street and no regular street cleaning. The bin men also need to be more careful they do not add to the problem by being careless.

I have asked environment on call if they can do regular street cleaning on several occasions but to no avail.

Would also benefit from PCOS officers speaking to groups/gangs/residents to try to rectify the problem as it is making the street antisocial and scruffy.
