There is a communal bin area at the side of our house, it is a constant mess with fly tipping fire raising and vermin being a constant issue for the surrounding houses, this has been complained about on over 50 occassions over the last 2 years with no resolution. We have pointed out alternative sites for the bina asn offered to buy the land to no avail. An ideal example of this is the picture on google street view. This is affecting the value of the house

That is an odd looking situation you have there. I can't see any flats, so who has to use those communal bins ? Aberdeen City Council should move them into that car park or build an enclosure for them elsewhere. I lived in a flat where the bins were directly under me and were often set alight so I know where you`re coming from. Contact your Councillor, MSP and MP and show them what you have to put up with at the side of your house [which I'm sure none of them would].
Thanks for your reply, there are indeed no flats near us, these bins are for the houses at the back of my house which are situated on top of a hill. I have contacted various people who have a consistant response of the bins have to be somewhere and so long as they are not blocking a window they are not breaking any legislations, does anyone know if there is a piece legislation around this? I have attached a new pic
Your problem has to be solved, it wont fix its self. My next suggestion is complete an official complaint form [they are allowed a month to get back to you] if you are still not getting anywhere try reporting every day to environmental health. If that fails then I would see a solicitor or Citizens Advice Bureau who may have dealt with similar situations.
The council complaint form is here for you to copy and paste: http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/CouncilDepartments/cdp_ask_ceo_form.asp
Hi again, I just looked on Google Street View and had no idea idiots were even placing empty ? propane gas containers there. Another avenue to try is contact Grampian Fire & Rescue Service and ask them to give you a visit to discuss the dangerous situation faced by you and your property.
I will try the formal complaint and let you know how it goes, Good shout on the brigade for the next gas canister. I took the propane tank you see to the local centre as I was pretty worried about it and it had been reported every week for 6 weeks with no response so I thought best to get it gone.
