Norton Lane - dreadful road surface

Reported in the Potholes category by Richard Todd at 12:22, Thu 22 April 2010
Sent to Solihull Borough Council 3 minutes later

The road surface along Norton Lane is dangerously poor for the best part of a mile between Lady Lane and Lowbrook Lane. In particular the westbound lane (ie heading from Earlswood towards Wythall) is probably the worst road in the entire district. The surface has suffered in the past from numerous trenching operations by the utilities companies and was in a dire state. In 2009 a surface dressing was applied and that is now breaking up and making a poor job even worse. In particular this stretch of road is particularly dangerous for cyclists as there are potholes, suken grains, gullies and grooves to contend with.
