Top surface layer of road completely absent

The top layer of the road has completely worn away at this location.

The area spans the full width of the West bound lane (from Blackburn towards Hoghton), and is so worn that whells lose traction when driving over the area, causing erratic steering. This has caused me some surprise recently, and could eventually lead to a major accident.
