Driving wrong way up one-way street

Many thanks to Michael Mc Donnell from BCC for putting a large NO Entry sign on the road at the junction of Legge Lane and Newhall Hill, an excellent job. However, regrettably this has not improved matters at all. Yesterday 3 car drove the wrong way into oncoming traffic and a further 2 cars were parked in the parking bays the wrong way (Police and Wardens do nothing about this) One day there is going to be a serious accident. The signage needs to be drastically improved or just give up and make it two-way again.

Updates
I've noticed the same - the No Entry painted on the road is invisible when there's traffic waiting to turn into Graham Street. Which is much of the time.
Plus, for those driving up Newhall Hill towards Fredrick St, the blue wayfinding signs completely obscure the No Entry signs.
I think an alternative solution may be to narrow the road to one lane at the Newhall Hill end; then it will be patently obvious it's one-way.
This will remove a couple of already lacking parking spaces, but this is fewer than would be lost by making the road 2-way.
