Litter bin(s)

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category by Rob Evans at 13:50, Wed 10 March 2010
Sent to Christchurch Borough Council 5 minutes later

I regularly litter pick on and around the Quomps and am very aware that two more litter bins are urgently needed. They could be sited from the humped 'bridge' roughly where the flag is and another along the path which runs along to the Boathouse pub. Litter is frequently dropped in these area or thrown into the shrubbery by the 'bridge'(by the wide gates) as there are NO bins along that frequently used path.

Response from council - currently no money available for provision and maintenance of any more bins in the Borough. The 'job' will be added to the list for whenever! Given the high density of useage of the Quomps area and the amount of litter generated it does help considerably if there enough bins in the RIGHT place.

Chritters are a group of volunteer literpickers in Christchurch. Well done Rob for what you're doing. There are never enough bins anywhere, hence the amount of litter, and the antisocial behaviour of those who drop it.

Hi Chritters, we would be interested in making contact with other Christchurch litter pickers. email address is wickfield2@aol.com, phone 01202 470882

Litter bin has been removed from the Wick Lane end of Creedy path (by the developers ?). When and where will it be replaced ? A well used bin being so near the school.
