Lime Garth Upper Poppleton Street Sign

Reported in the Street nameplates category by Peter Hawkins at 14:56, Mon 8 March 2010
Sent to City of York Council 4 minutes later

Good afternoon,

I am an Upper Poppleton Parish Councillor and I am contacting you to let you know that the street sign on the South side of Lime Garth appears to have been struck by a vehicle and damaged. As you will see from the attached photo, the vehicle appears to have mounted the pavement whilst exiting Lime Garth buckling one of the poles which hold the nameplate and, as a reult, the nameplate has become detached from its fixings.

Poppleton has been subject to some low level vandalism in recent weeks and so, in order to avoid the possibility of local youths taking the name plate, I have retrieved it and it can be collected from behind my dustbins at 40 Dikelands Lane Upper Poppleton YO26 6JF.

The nameplate has been recovered by City of York Council but the posts have not been straightened and the nameplate restored as of 4th April.

I kept forgetting to check if the problem was fixed so I don't know exactly when it was done but I checked earlier this week and everything was restored.
