Pot-trench

Reported in the Potholes category by MP Gribble at 20:48, Sun 7 March 2010
Sent to West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later

Southbound on the horsham road into Rowhook there is a very large pot-hole, more like a trench, on the left hand side of a left hand bend. It is several feet long, 2 feet wide and several inches deep

Having reported damage to my car I received a questionnaire and duly returned it. I have since received an acknowledgement with the news that the matter is in the hands of their legal department. The pot-trench has not been touched, nor is there any warning in place.

I have completed a claim form for the damage caused to my car. This has now been passed to the legal department and I have heard nothing more. The problem with the road surface has still not been fixed, nor have there been any warning signs put up.

The "pot-trench" has at last been fixed, to a degree. However, the council does not accept responsibility and will not pay up, as it is a "C" category road. I suppose the salary of the council chief has to be paid somehow!
